Tables/Graphs/Illustration

The following tables/graphs/illustrations best describe certain properties and characteristics of lamps produced in Carley facilities.

Table 1 — This table shows the range of values assignable to various lamp types.

Aspect Vacuum Lamps Gas Filled &
Halogen Lamps
Color Temperature degK 1800-2600 2200-3200
Efficiency, Candle Power/Watt .1-.7 .2-2.2
Filament Current, Amperes .01-.40 .35-10
Filament Voltage 1.0-32 2.5-28
Max. Allowable Ambient Temp  100C 250C
Bulb Skin Temp, Approx. Average 60C 300C
Filament Rise Time, Sec. .005-.1 .1-1
Lifetime Average Hours AC  250-25,000 20-10,000
Lens End Foot Candles 100-2000 500-40,000

Nomograph
(Approximate) — This table shows the changes in values of various lamp properties as a result of input voltage increase or decrease.
Nomograph (approximate)

For instance, a 5 volt lamp run at 6 volts (6/5=1.2) would have an approximate candlepower of 1.9X, a life of .1X and a current of 1.1X when compared to it's 5 volt rating.

Graph 1
This graph shows typical lamp envelope transmissions curves. This curve is useful in the employment of lamps as visual or Infra Red Sources. Also consider the use of one of our reflectors to further concentrate energy levels and to control light projection.
Lime, Lead, & Halogen Glasses
Graph 2
This graph shows the transmission of Sapphire and Zinc Selenide windows that are used in Carley Lamps Infra Red Sources.

Non Lens end lamp with C2R filament and Insulated lead extensions 8. Non Lens end lamp with C2R filament and Nickel lead extensions welded on at glass seal.

NOTE: Most lamps can be built in a TL lens end or a T non lens end glass envelope. Lamp leads or leg's can be cut or un-cut. Please specify if you require your lamp leads cut to a specific length. Contact Carley Lamps for more information and to discuss your unique application.
